Graduation and Next Steps

I had my lower lumbar MRI on Thursday, and the results have already returned as "Normal"! So thankful for this!

This week, they lowered my Taxol dose to 75% to hopefully avoid long term nerve damage (I'm still taking Gabapentin). They also lowered my Carbo dose to 80%, due to a reaction in my throat and voice the past two weeks. (As a vocalist and voice over actor my voice is a tool I want to protect!) One more infusion and I'm finished with this first round of chemo!

My blood work shows that I am currently neutropenic, which means I have an increased vulnerability to infection. Simultaneously, one of my toes is red and tender around the nail. Please pray against infection in this toe! My liver numbers are also elevated again. Ugh. Please pray for my body to recover so we can proceed with this last infusion of taxol/carbo and then for endurance through "the red devil" ahead.

On a positive note, I had good energy for Maddie's high school graduation on Wednesday! We had a sweet time celebrating this exciting milestone. Congrats to the Class of 2024!

Prayer:

  • That the Lord would prepare and protect my body as I finish this first round of treatment and begin the harder chemo ahead.

  • For protection against infection in my toe.

  • We meet with a surgeon this week to start talking about surgery options. Please pray for clarity and wisdom.

  • Pray that Anthony and I will live in light of Psalm 131 right now. That our souls would be calmed and quieted by our hope and trust in our tender and trustworthy Savior, Jesus.

Psalm 131

O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.

But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

O Israel (Sarah and Anthony), hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.
